Convention trip 2013

Convention trip from 29.8. to 31.8.2013

After the successful start the previous year, KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS also organised a convention trip for 2013, which addressed the questions and wishes of interested organisers. In August, Kongressbüro Münster Marketing, the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland and the five partner hotels Kaiserhof, Mercure, Mövenpick, Treff and Factory Hotel welcomed 13 organisers to the convention city of Münster.

On 29 August, all the participants and cooperation partners met up for the official welcome at the Stadtweinhaus. There, the Director of Münster Marketing, Bernadette Spinnen, gave an initial overview of Münster's potentials, the partner hotels and the services of the Kongressbüro.

After an entertaining tour of the city the participants got to know and taste the Treff Hotel. Refreshed by a light lunch they then went on to the Picasso Museum. This museum is not only a wonderful place for the accompanying programme, but is instead also very suitable for receptions and smaller conferences, as is the Museum of Lacquer Art. A cocktail course at the Tide-Bar of the Factory Hotel provided an enjoyable end to the first day.

On the second and final day of the event, the Hotel Kaiserhof invited participants to breakfast together, followed by a tour of the hotel. Afterwards there was a trip by double-decker bus to the Aasee, where the group travelled the "lake route"" to the Allwetterzoo Münster by solar-powered boat. The Allwetterzoo is also an exceptional conference venue, with the option of an accompanying programme of animals. Hotel Mövenpick cooperated with the zoo to provide a special moment: a small picnic at the Safari Lodge.

Following the visit to the zoo, the participants were able to view the Mövenpick Hotel and the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland. In the evening the Mercure Hotel then offered the opportunity to go on an informative and culinary tour of the hotel. Here the participants of the trip were able to relax and discuss the convention site with the cooperation partners again and already concrete plans for conventions were being made. The "artistic" finale of the trip at the piazza on Erbdrostenhof – in the context of the event "Schauraum Münster" – further strengthened the argument for choosing Münster as a venue.
