Activities of the KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS
1. Fam trips for professors on March 24, 2006
Successfully advertising Münster as a centre of conventions
A reception in the Hall of Peace by the Lord Mayor, entertaining talk sessions providing information and tips all around the congress location Münster in the armoury, a walk with the night-watchman, and an atmospheric dinner in the vault of the Krameramtshaus.
The programme based on which professors and scientists of Münster's academies were invited by the KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS to join the 1st fam-trip was quite impressive and gave a prime example of how great a conference location Münster truly is, since this event was aimed at proving this and was launched in this shape for the very first time, meeting with excellent acceptance by all guests from the academic sector.
On that evening, potential congress organisers from the universities were given a vivid impression of the strong points of Münster as a conference location. Above all, this includes a sound infrastructure that can resorted to when it comes to planning and organising conventions of any dimensions. For example, the congress office at Münster Marketing provides tailor-made support: from individual services elements to all-inclusive packages. Within the scope of the KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS, the congress office cooperates with partners such as the University of Münster and the Münster University of Applied Sciences, with the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland and the DEHOGA, with the IHK Nord Westfalen (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) and the Wirtschaftsförderung, the Aktion Münsterland as well as the Muenster Osnabrueck International Airport, thus allowing it to draw on an outstanding network.
In the future, the cooperation between congress office and the universities is supposed to be intensified in order to strengthen Münster as a centre for science and research. The University of Münster has agreed, on its part, to also appoint a central contact partner for conferences and conventions - so that nothing would be in the way of an effective cooperation any more in the sense of the congress organisers.
