Münster – the city of quick routes

The KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS had chosen a very special location for the opening event of the second Professors' Gathering: the canteen on the eleventh floor of the town hall. An unusual place at first glance, perhaps, but the perfect starting point for getting in the mood for this year's slogan "Münster – the city of quick routes".

30 professors from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität and the Münster University of Applied Sciences had taken up the invitation of KONGRESSINITIATIVE MS to get an overview of extraordinary venues from "up above the roofs of Münster".

They then went from the town hall to the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland, to take a look at the newly opened Panorama Congress. The itinerary then led to the Mercure Hotel. There, Professor Hertel, organiser of the recently held EQWOP congress, described his example of best practice and gave a few tips and tricks for organising a convention.

After the hotel viewing, the group then went to the Erbdrostenhof. This baroque town house, as an unusual location, once again made clear the variety of Münster's facets as a conference site. Then it was time to go only a few hundred metres away to the Café Colibri in the city library. The improvisation theatre placebo here showed what a day as a professor and convention organiser might look like, and at the same time the participants saw how suitable the café was as a location for e.g. a kickoff event.

Another short walk took the participants to the Restaurant Großer Kiepenkerl, where the second Professors' Gathering came to a close at a causal reception and an evening meal with regional and seasonal specialities.
